Horse-riding along the Blue Ribbon
Riders and their horses are offered the opportunity to cross the river on specially designed ferries, one of which operates in Arneburg (Altmark).
Altmark features more than 1,600km of well-mapped routes. There is so much to see for both nature enthusiasts and culture buffs: the plains along the Rivers Elbe and Havel, for instance, are home to a number of rare species including otter and beaver, while those interested in culture and the arts will rather opt for the famous feldspar churches and picturesque towns with timber-framed buildings. A number of businesses throughout the region have specialized in offering accommodation for both riders and their horses, along with riding lessons, horse treks and a lot more.
