Cistercian Monastery "Michaelstein"
The monastery complex was built in the middle of the 12th century and is situated far off the beaten tracks of the secular world. In the enclosure buildings elements of the Romanesque and Gothic periods are still visible, e.g. in the cloister, refectory and chapter-hall. The monastery garden has been newly laid out following historical models. An exhibition of historical musical instruments can be found in the Baroque west wing of the monks’ enclosure.
