Kurt Weill Festival in Dessau
Every year from end of February to beginning of March, Dessau commemorates the composer Kurt Weill with a music festival.
Artists from Germany and abroad, among them some from the USA, participate in the 10-day Kurt Weill festival titled “Vanishing Point America”. The festival features over 30 top concerts and events taking place at various location across town including the Anhaltisches Theater, the Kurt-Weill Center, Georgium Palace, the Bauhaus and St. Mary’s church in Dessau, as well as the mirror hall of Köthen Palace. The festival’s main focus is – of course – on works by Kurt Weill; but the program also includes musical cabarets, movies, cafés, and guided tours of Bauhaus.
