Medieval Music Festival in Freyburg: montalbâne
Every June the medieval “montalbâne” music festival in Freyburg/Unstrut takes the visitor on a journey back to the times of minnesang.
The renowned festival spotlights medieval and traditional music. The festival organizers picked up the traditions of the open-minded and art-loving counts palatine of Saxony and the later landgraves of Thuringia, Hermanns I. Majestic Neuenburg, one of the most visited castles along the Romanesque Road, is the perfect backdrop for this wonderful concert cycle. The program includes everything from beautiful midnight concerts at the Romanesque double chapel to expert lectures. Next date: June 19 – 21, 2009
