Bad Dürrenberg is a popular destination for day trippers or those in search of a peaceful weekend.
Europe´s best preserved graduation house (885m in length) testifies to Bad Dürrenberg´s 203-year old saltworks tradition. The area´s fresh, salty air has helped many suffering from respiratory diseases.

Another worthwhile attraction is the time-honored Borlach tower which today houses a museum offering plenty of information on the old saltworks. The brine springs from 223m below the tower.

The spa parks offer magnificent views of Saaletal valley and the rich pastures through which the beautiful Saale cycling and walking trail winds its way. These trails are only a short stroll from the parklands and make an ideal day out.
